from the AAP
2007 recipient of the Humanitarian Award
CHICAGO—October 30, 2007—William C. James, DDS, a private practitioner in Charlotte, NC, is the 2007 recipient of the American Academy of Periodontology (AAP) Humanitarian Award.
The Humanitarian Award is given in recognition of an Academy member who has given selflessly through extraordinary actions that benefit a deserving population.
“Dr. James received the award today at the AAP’s 93rd Annual Meeting in Washington, DC,” explained Preston D. Miller, Jr., DDS and 2006-2007 president of the AAP. “I am honored to present him with the Humanitarian Award for his efforts in the periodontal community.”
Dr. James has given his time and service doing healthcare missions as the dental director of the the Haiti Mission. He has helped to build five clinics and six churches in various locations.
In addition to being a member of the AAP, Dr. James is a member of the American Dental Association, Southern Academy of Periodontology, North Carolina Dental Society, North Carolina Society of Periodontists, Charlotte Dental Society Second District Dental Society, and the American Academy of Periodontology Foundation among others. Dr. James lives in Matthews, NC, and has practices in Charlotte and Concord.
