Dr. Allan Charles Elected to Second Three-Year Term on AAP Foundation Board

CHICAGO—October 19, 2006–At its annual meeting in San Diego last month, the American Academy of Periodontology Foundation board of directors elected Allan H. Charles, D.D.S., of Pasadena, California, to his second three-year term on the board.

Prior to his election to the AAP Foundation board, Dr. Charles served the specialty in various capacities, including president of the California Society of Periodontists and several terms on the board of trustees of the American Academy of Periodontology. Dr. Charles maintains a private practice limited to periodontics in Pasadena, California.

About AAP Foundation: The mission of the American Academy of Periodontology Foundation is to improve the periodontal and general health of the public through increasing public and professional knowledge of periodontal diseases and their therapies, stimulating basic and clinical research to generate new knowledge, and enhancing educational programs at all levels to create opportunities in periodontal education and practice. Periodontics is one of nine dental specialties recognized by the American Dental Association.
