AAP Foundation Elects Officer Slate

The election took place at the AAPF's Board of Directors meeting in Denver.

CHICAGO—November 14, 2005—The American Academy of Periodontology Foundation board of directors elected its officer slate at its September 23 meeting in Denver.

Edward P. (Pat) Allen, DDS, PhD, of Dallas, Texas, was elected president; Paul Levi, DMD, of Burlington, Vermont, was elected vice-president; and Michael McGuire, DDS, of Houston, Texas, was elected secretary-treasurer. Joining the board are Bryan Frantz, DMD, of Dunmore, Pennsylvania, Jeffrey Kopman, DDS, of Huntington, New York, and Preston D. Miller, Jr. of Memphis, Tennessee. Jack Caton, DDS, of Rochester, New York, was re-elected to a second three-year term on the Foundation Board. Dr. D. Walter Cohen was named an honorary director of the Foundation.

About AAP Foundation: The mission of the American Academy of Periodontology Foundation is to improve the periodontal and general health of the public through increasing public and professional knowledge of periodontal diseases and their therapies, stimulating basic and clinical research to generate new knowledge, and enhancing educational programs at all levels to create opportunities in periodontal education and practice.
