The AAP Foundation sponsors the R. Earl Robinson Periodontal Regeneration Award, which is awarded annually by the American Academy of Periodontology to honor the best paper relating to regeneration of the periodontium. |
CHICAGO—June 8, 2010–The Board of Trustees of the American Academy of Periodontology has selected Drs. Michael K. McGuire, E. Todd Scheyer, and Peter Schupbach to receive the R. Earl Robinson Periodontal Regeneration Award. They received the award for their paper titled, Growth Factor-Mediated Treatment of Recession Defects: A Randomized Controlled Trial and Histologic and Microcumputed Tomography Examination, which was published in the April 2009 issue of the Journal of Periodontology.
Drs. McGuire and Scheyer are in private practice in Houston, TX. Dr. Schupbach teaches periodontics at the University of Pennsylvania. Their study demonstrated that regeneration of the periodontium in gingival recession defects was possible through a growth factor-mediated approach.
The annual Robinson Award
was created to honor the best paper relating to regeneration of the periodontium. It is sponsored by the AAP Foundation.
