What is awarded?
The $50,000 Sunstar-AAP Foundation Research Fellowship is intended to support specific periodontal research. The award, which is underwritten by Sunstar, is intended to supplement the fellow’s income and not intended to replace any salary or stipend to which the Fellow would otherwise be entitled.
Who is eligible?
Full-time periodontal educators engaged in periodontally-related research at U.S. programs are eligible to apply. Applicants must be board-certified in periodontology and members of the American Academy of Periodontology (AAP).
How do candidates apply?
Completed applications must be received by the AAP Foundation by June 1.
What is the selection process?
Applications will be reviewed by a selection committee appointed by the AAPF President. The Committee shall make the final decisions on which applications are chosen for the program.
