The American Academy of Periodontology has appointed Experient as its official housing and registration company for the 2008 Annual Meeting in Seattle. All housing is reserved through Experient for the AAP room block; hotels cannot accept reservations made directly. A portion of the room rate is being paid to Experient as a provider of the Academy’s housing service. You must register for the meeting to secure housing. Note: Room rates listed do not include Seattle tax, currently 15.6%.

HOTEL CANCELLATIONS AND REFUNDS

Prior to the published deadline date of August 1, cancellations and requests for changes must be made through Experient at:

Attendees will be able to call Experient until August 20 in order to cancel or make changes to their hotel reservations.

After August 27, you must contact the hotel directly to change or cancel your reservation. The general deadline to cancel a hotel reservation is 72 hours prior to arrival for all hotels. If you are entitled to a refund for your housing deposit, and you cancel your reservation directly with the hotel, it may take up to 90 days from the last day of the Annual Meeting to receive your refund from the hotel. The Academy cannot secure a refund for you.

The AAP has appointed Experient as the official travel coordinator for the 2008 Annual Meeting. Special meeting fare discounts are available on United Airlines. GROUND TRANSPORTATION

Taxis average about $40 each way between Seattle Tacoma International Airport (Sea-Tac) and downtown hotels. The Downtown Airporter bus operates between Sea-Tac airport and several downtown hotels, including the Sheraton Seattle Hotel, Grand Hyatt, Hilton Seattle, Crowne Plaza Hotel Seattle and Fairmont Olympic. Guests staying at the Red Lion and Homewood Suites by Hilton can take the Airporter to the Sheraton Seattle Hotel stop and walk a short distance to their hotel.

Rates for the Downtown Airporter currently:

Departures from Sea-Tac to downtown hotels operate daily every half-hour from 5:30 am - 11:00 pm.

Departures from downtown Seattle to Sea-Tac operate daily from 5:00 am - 11:00 pm. Ask your hotel concierge or hotel desk staff for the Airporter pick-up time and location of your loading area. Please arrive at least 5 minutes prior to your scheduled pick-up time.

There is a limit of 3 bags per person; $1 will be charged for each additional bag (subject to space availability). Gray Line, the Downtown Airporter operator, is not responsible for lost, damaged or broken items.

Passengers with disabilities must contact Gray Line of Seattle at 800-426-7532 (option 3) at least 48 hours prior to travel so they can determine how to best accommodate you. Tickets are available at the Gray Line of Seattle desk located at the south end of the Seattle-Tacoma International Airport main terminal.

Follow the signs for Scheduled Airporter Services at Door 00 (zero-zero). Tickets can also be purchased from most downtown Seattle hotel concierges or Downtown Airporter drivers.
